Our Story

Co owned by Maxwell “Trey” Johnson and Melissa deGeneres.

Since 1952, our family has been successfully dredging sand and gravel in south Louisiana. Through industry changes, location changes, political changes, economic ups and downs, our company has held strong for decades. The family prides itself on keeping up with industry evolution and current standards of advancements and technologies in the sand and gravel business. Today, we also shop-manufacture items we have fabricated in the field for years. We build pump stands, cat walks, cage ladders, skids, pipeline pontoons, along with any other custom items required.

Trey has 45 years of dredging experience, including fabricating dredge boats, processing plants with stands, troughs, classifying boxes, pontoon barges, and pontoon floats for pipelines. Melissa has 30 years of sand and gravel experience, managing the accounting side of the company. The brother-sister duo began working closely together in 1992, when Melissa formally joined the company. In the hands of Trey and Melissa’s combined industry expertise, the family business remains successful, thriving and progressive.
